Black a White Space (Pty) Ltd has a skilled team with combined experience of more than 30 years’ (since 1987), in the interior design field, servicing and supplying to the corporate office, retail, and hospitality industries.  Together with our project management skills it makes us the ideally well-equipped and experienced company to take on whatever challenges we get presented with.

We have solid working relationships with additional professional expertise such as: architects, civil, mechanical and structural engineers and quantity surveyors, whom we can call upon as the project demands.  During our years in the industry, we have built good relationships with these professionals and thus we are able to give you a rock solid team working together effortlessly to present you with the ultimate design and/or solution. 

 

Black a White Space’s turnkey service includes project management, as well as the design process from start to finish including after sales service:

 

As Project Managers we will:

• Be the point of contact to keep communications open;

• Determine the scope of works;

• Document minutes of meetings;

• Manage cost;

• Manage time and schedule works;

• Identify potential risks;

• Handle procurement procedures;

• Exercise quality control;

• Close out project and handover to client;

 

As Interior Designers we will:

• Do thorough needs assessment;

• Conceptualise;

• Space plan;

• Develop the design;

• Draw up 3D and artistic representations;

• Compile construction and working drawings;

• Specify materials and finishes;

• Address soft finishes and decorative items;

• Oversee implementation and execution;

• Handle handover and close out;

 

Black a White Space also designs custom kitchenettes, storage units such as lockers, stock cupboards and wall panels, and draw up all the necessary working drawings, joinery drawings and specifications for the design to be executed.  Black a White’s design skills do not end with interior space planning and custom shop fitting.  We also design graphic artworks, wall papers, wall art, vinyl art and banners. 

 

Black a White Space personnel are accomplished in various fields and hold several degrees, diplomas and certificates, such as Baccalaureus Technologiae and National Diploma in Interior Design from Tshwane University of Technology, and Programme in Project Management (PPM) qualification from University of Pretoria which is accredited by the Project Management Institute of United States of America (PMI).  We are also proud members of Project Management South Africa (PMSA). 

 

Black a White Space has level 2 B-BBEE rating.  Black a White Space regularly takes interns from various institutions and is eager to teach the young and upcoming interior designers.  Our aim is to give them industry exposure, showing them the ropes and developing them to their full potential.  We have a healthy history with Tshwane University of Technology, giving the students hands on exposure working in the industry.
